One School, One Vaccine at a Time Campaign

The Colorado Springs Hispanic Chamber has organized its new community outreach initiative with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and Julissa Soto Latino Health Equity Consulting, One School, One Vaccine at a Time (Una Escuela, Una Vacuna a la Vez), aimed at promoting community wellness through targeted vaccination efforts in partnership with local school districts and healthcare providers.  The Colorado Springs Hispanic Chamber will begin the first Una Escuela, Una Vacuna a la Vez in collaboration with Harrison School District 2 on July 22 at their district offices, on July 31 at Fox Meadow Middle School and expand its effort across District 2 through 2024.

The program, which integrates wellness education, community-based resources, and routine childhood immunizations, directly reaches students and families where they live and learn. By employing a cultural validation approach, this effectively addresses vaccine hesitancy and access barriers by understanding and respecting the diverse cultural backgrounds within each school community.
